Product Description
Aperture is an explosive expression of life. In this debut collection of some forty poems, Oladayo Sanusi explores the raw fabrics of life as he lives it. Aperture is a characteristic work of a young poet with palpable energy and passion. The overall tempo is fast, and a vivid use of imagery is predominant. The energy-draining march of this work is compensated by few interspersed soothing songs and sweet supplications, which are factual reflections of the author's appeals and style.- Oluyinka S. Adediji

Product Description
These poems, selected from most of the cultures and histories of world literature, provide magnificent witness to the fact that love is as much an act of the imagination as it is of the body. From fourth-century Li Ch'ung's "Parody of a Lover" to John Betmeman's "Late-Flowering Lust," they re-create, through the revelations of language, that experience of the erotic. Other poets include Theodore Roethke, Robert Graves, Octavio Paz, Joseph Brodsky, Sylvia Plath, Frederico Garcia Lorca, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and many others.

Product Description
Poems from the Film Il Postino. The poems collected in this book are at the heart of the film Il Postino, a cinematic fantasy spun from an apocryphal incident in the life of the Chilean poet and Nobel laureate, Pablo Neruda. Together they show why many consider Neruda to be the finest love poet of the century. Few writers of any age have described the pleasures and torments of erotic love with such un-sentimental directness and sensual precision. Here, too, we find Neruda at his most accessible, the language of his odes and lyrics refined to the point at which it achieves, in critic Jean Franco's words, "the naturalness of song". This short selection draws on work from throughout his writing life, from the famous early collection Twenty Love Songs & a Song of Despair (1924) to the key works of his maturity, Residence on Earth (1935), Elemental Odes (1954) and the autobiographical Memorial de Isla Negra (1964). It offers an enticing glimpse of one of modern poetry's greatest masters.

Product Description
We-Susan Chapman (Nasus) and Judi Hays (Iduji)-unknowingly started working on Reflections of Friendship: Gentle Words in Haiku in June of 2002, when Susan introduced Judi to The Tale of Murasaki, by Liza Dalby. We read the book at the same time, so that we could discuss it with one another in our emails. The story of Murasaki, a Japanese poet and author living in 11th-century Japan, inspired us to write our own haiku, since woven throughout the book were haiku poems written and sent by Murasaki and her friends. Reflections of Friendship: Gentle Words in Haiku is a collection of the ordinary moments of our lives (from July of 2002 to July of 2003) transformed into the poetry of haiku. We hope you enjoy our "contemporary" haiku, written with respect to and in the spirit of the ancient poets. Most Respectfully, Nasus and Iduji
